This announcement by the German chemical-pharmaceutical company Bayer about the installation of its plant specialized in family planning, reaffirms the impact of this specialized cluster in the Life Sciences industry. This plant will produce long-acting reversible contraceptives, such as hormonal implants and intrauterine systems (IUS).
Costa Rica, for its part, presents a series of attributes for the development of pharmaceutical industries such as highly specialized labor for manufacturing, efficiency, knowledge and talent of collaborators, as well as a good business climate and access. to the main markets.
“The quantity and quality of companies in the Life Sciences Sector that manufacture and export from the park demonstrate our ability to offer an optimal business environment and the arrival of Bayer reaffirms the confidence of large industries to continue growing in Costa Rica and in Coyol Free Zone” indicated Carlos Wong, General Manager of the park.
Coyol Free Zone offers a broad ecosystem of suppliers for Life Sciences companies within the park such as packaging, manufacturing, sterilization, logistics and export, which reduces costs and maximizes the time and resources of the companies.
Jimmy Suazo, manager of the new site that will be called Bayer Medical Alajuela, which is estimated to have approximately 28,000 square meters of construction and 6 production lines, explained that “Costa Rica has a long history in the manufacturing of medical devices thanks to the fact that “It offers human talent that is widely prepared in technical fields.”
